Below you will find 18 definitions for NOSISM. Only one is real!

Please vote for two (preferably avoiding the real one, thereby rewarding
your fellow players and not selfishly getting points for yourself), by
public reply to this message, before deadline, which is 5:00 PM PDT/8:00 PM
EDT on Monday, April 08, 2013. That's Midnight UTC and 10:00 am on Tuesday
in Melbourne.

1. [Obs.] a paradox.
2. opposition; contrariness; rebellion.
3. the condition of walking with an uneven gait.
4. terseness or succinctness of style or expression.
5. a caucus in which all voting is by secret ballot.
6. the practice of describing wines in fanciful terms.
7. the practice of using 'we' in giving one's opinions.
8. a skin lesion resulting from contact with mustard gas.
9. a system of belief followed by some Sufi practitioners.
10. narcissistic belief that the individual is all-
important.
11. a disease of the kidneys, more common in pigs than
humans.
12. belief in the ultimate prevalence of accidental
misfortune.
13. an affectation of speech marked by the deliberate
misuse of the plural.
14. an endogenic geochemical process which results in the
slowing down of alkaline metasomatosis.
15. a fissure in bedrock, caused by earthquake activity,
which causes subsidence in buildings (Arch.)
16. a regional quality, character, or distinctiveness; esp.
the expression of this in literature, art, etc.
17. in logic, the fallacy that a characteristic of all
people one knows, or of one's group, is true of all people.
18. an aversion to or an intolerance of daylight,
specifically one which causes the sufferer to sleep during
the day and to be awake during the hours of darkness.

No def from me because I was away at an hotel where internet charge was
£5.00 a day for 10MB - I pay 13.50 /month for 30Mb

I'll take 12 and 16, although I believe there needs to be a word for the
very real concept embodied in 17. I just don't believe it is this word.
