Ah. That explains, to a great degree, our different degrees of (dis)comfort
about TAPCIS et al. I have TAPCIS set to scan, not read (i.e., fetch only
headers), all attachments, since I have very little need to receive
such--and almost all of them are either slices of spam or HTML dupes of
regular plaintext e-mail(which everybody can send). My business and
personal contacts know that if they do need to send a non-plaintext
document or a graphic or photo, they'll warn me ahead, so I'll know to
examine those scanned headers carefully (and tell TAP to read those items)
instead of routinely hitting the Del key.
