Crazy-sounding stuff, so the best I can do is some wild-guessing -- which
leads me to numbers 15 and 17, 'cause I s'pose I'm in a geological mood.

15. A spontaneous upwelling on a glacier, resulting in spires or domes of
ice.

17. A distinctive layer comprising several broad strata of sedimentary rock
formed in recent geological periods, found chiefly at high altitudes.

Whichever one it is, I don't know where I'd be without mine.

One of the missing defs is mine, but not though any omission of my own. I
sent two messages to Tony from Google Groups this round (including my
definition) which he apparently did not receive. Do I need to update to
Chrome for this new (to me) version of Google Groups to work?

Anyway, I'll vote for 5 and 6.

One is tempted by 4 which sounds like something out of Fifty Shades of the
Old Grey Mare. But instead my votes go to 5 and 6

5. Relating to ancestral rank.

Nancy, you're right, I did not receive any messages from you. And this account
is not spam filtered, so I can't explain where the messages went.
