Here are 17 definitions of DAIN, one of which came from a well-respected dictionary, the remainder from the creative minds of your fellow dixonarians.

Vote for your two favorites no later than 6 PM EST, Thursday, December 6.

1. a freeloader.

2. barred adjustable grillwork that allows water to flow from a higher
to a lower level at a controlled rate.

3. worry, concern.

4. a traditional Irish bread flavoured with seaweed.
