View Full Version : [Dixonary] Results -- Round 2344: obulary

If my manual scoring is accurate, in Round 2344, #18, submitted by: Hale, earned five votes (Weltz, Shefler, Mallach, Dixon, and Schultz)...so Keith Hale is our next dealer. Lots of players received two votes!

The true definition was 6: "Possessing only small coins; impoverished" (www.thefreedictionary.com/), which no one guessed. However, there were two DQs during the voting phase, Dan Widdis and Johnny Barrs. Chris Carson thought he might be a DQ before the definitions were posted, thinking that "obulary" might mean "spineless" -- I hope that wasn't why he didn't vote!

I apologize for missing the spelling error in #13 when I "cut and pasted" the definitions. I was so overwhelmed with the manual scoring that I didn't read the submissions as carefully as I might have.

If you see any errors, please advise!

Take it away, Keith! --Judy

Thanks, Dodi -- but is it considered a D0 when there are DQs?

AFAIK, yes. I think it means, literally: There were zero votes for the real
def.

P.S. to anyone making notes: The word was "obOlary".

Hi Judy,

Congratulations on the D0. Very well done!

And no apology is needed for the spelling error. I made that mistake
myself (I know - I checked my sent messages archive after seeing the
definition list), so I am the one who should have been more careful.

Cheers,
Hugo

Judy,

My possible DQ was for your first word, not obulary. Rather than spineless (having no spinal cord) but had I seen the 'no tail' def I would still have been DQ. My failure to vote was more due to just being busy and missing the deadline.

Congrats on the D0. Very nicely played.

Yes, it's still a D0, regardless of DQs!

Great job!
