For those who remember Gonzalez y gonzalez as a sysop eating hole, this article talks about its revival after shutting its doors and being replaced by a chipolte chain store. The article is old, so the joint is now open and it is just as good as before. It's just the backend of the old place with an entrance on Mercer Street instead of Broadway.

Just a followup. They have completely redone their kitchen and now have almost the complete menu from before. Seriously one of the best Mexican restaurants in New York and right down the block from Angelikas.
