Once again, I appreciate your indulgence. I went back to work today and
lo and behold our network and internet was down all day. Grrrr. So I
couldn't remote in to my computer at home to finish up the round on
deadline.

Thanks again to all for the good wishes for my daughter. All is going
well so far so we're very grateful. I think it helped that my daughter is
in the hospital she works at so her treatment has been first rate.

To business, now. In round 2293, 2 players earned top spot with 6 points:
they were Tim Lodge and Daniel Widdis. Tim Lodge's definition "A diacritic
mark of some Scandinavian languages, consisting of a small circle over the
letter 'a'." earned its author the deal, and Daniel Widdis can heave a
sigh of relief that "A going; a course. [Obs.]" did not earn one more
vote.

There were 2 players in runner-up position with 5 points each: Steve Dixon
and Chuck Emery.

The true definition was 17: "A hook-and-loop arrangement used for a clasp
on armor or clothing." (American Heritage Dictionary, 5th Edition.), which
6 perceptive players guessed.

Nicely done round, especially with all drama. And I'm not just saying that
because I finally got some points.

Not totally, anyway.
