Today's Google Grumble is that in the new format I can't expand the
date/time field.

In Old Groups when reading a post I could click on "more options" next to
the date and see the full story of sender, date/time in both sender's time
zone and my own - useful sometimes for confirming my deadline conversions.

If this feature is available in the new version I haven't found it yet.

I don't know if this is what you want but ...

on the left hand side at the top is sender name and below it is receiver
name (in this case dixonary) and a drop arrow --- does that give you the
info you are looking for

Johnny - Thanks for the suggestion, however...

Yes, in this instance I see your name and picture

No, what I see next is generally "Re: [thread name]" and then the message,
or in some cases just the message. I'm guessing it shows "Re: etc" if it
was sent by email, and not if it was posted directly on the Groups site (as
mine are). Either way there's no drop arrow.

Perhaps the difference is that you receive your messages by email, while I
read mine on the site.

It's no big drama, just further evidence they launched the new version
before cleaning it properly.

Here's an article about a new scam, similar to the Nigerian 419 scam, and the author tells how to track exactly where a scam message comes from in Google... perhaps his method is gone, meaning one more tool for the scammers....
